My dear,
If the lessons of history teach us anything it is that nobody learns the lessons that history teaches us.
“We do, we do,” we say. “We’ve learned all we need to from history and those primitive versions of us,” we say. “We’re smarter and thus our actions are different and better,” we say. “We’re more learnt that those people of the past, how could we possibly make the same mistakes as them,” we ask rhetorically.
Isn’t it funny that we say and do the exact things that history teaches us will get us into trouble?
Falsely yours,
A. Nonymous
