My dear,
An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.
But the story’s the same on both sides, a new year is here – and it’s better than the old. People are a little bit older, and a little bit wiser, and hopefully they’ll use their new found wisdom to make sure that the new year is a little bit better.
The story’s the same on both sides, the coming year is better than the old… if we learn from the old.
Falsely yours,
William E. (“Bill”) Vaughan
