My dear,
Yesterday I witnessed a woman buying a mansion sized house she couldn’t afford, on credit, trying to impress her neighbors who she secretly (well, not so secretly) despises; While her husband bought a new Mercedes, with a loan, trying to impress his boss and his boss’ golf buddies (who he thinks are overly paid scam-artists).
Too many people buy things they don’t need, with money they don’t have, trying to impress people they don’t like.
Isn’t our culture funny?
We get ourselves into trouble three-fold trying to keep up with people who we think we need to keep up with… when we don’t.
If we as a culture stop trying to impress each other we’d be in a much better position than we are now.
Falsely yours,
A. Nonymous
