Some people cling on to who they see as better than them. This is a fact of life. They’re never going to stop. And if they in fact stop they’re not doing it because they achieved a new found respect for you (that’s a laugh). No, they’ve stopped because clinging to you has suddenly become not worth it.
Don’t worry about people stealing your design work. Worry about the day they stop.
